Re: License Agreement
Background and Context
We are excited to release the Tools
for Change CD-ROM. This Person Centred production of Inclusion
Press CD is a compilation of 15 years of collaboration and learning
between John O'Brien, Marsha Forest and myself. Hundreds of workshop
participants have tested each part of its content over the past
five years and report that the tools and ideas work for them.
We are glad to make these powerful tools more easily available.
The Tools for Change CD-ROM gathers a wide array
of tools, images, video clips, slide shows, and written materials
in a form that you can use in ways limited only by your creativity.
You can make overhead transparencies, give people handouts and
articles, add your own musical accompaniment to present inspiring
and thought provoking slide shows, show video clips that concisely
and memorably explain key concepts. You can deepen your own and
other's knowledge of the Tools for Change by plotting
your own course through a powerful computer aided instruction
and reference program.
We want you to use the material on the Tools for Change
CD-ROM (© INCLUSION PRESS 2001) as flexibly as possible
to improve your meetings, conferences, and change processes.
We also want a fair return for the years of work we have invested
in developing the tools and producing the CD-ROM so that
we can continue to develop new tools and ideas.
We think that the best way to balance these two objectives is
to price the Tools for Change CD-ROM like computer
software. When you pay Inclusion Press for the Tools
for Change CD-ROM license, you pay for to use of all the
materials on the CD-ROM. Inclusion Press (and Jack Pearpoint
carrying on business as Inclusion Press) continues to own the
copyright to the materials. You accept some limitations on your
use of the materials (that is the deal you make when you say
you accept all the fine print on the back of your word processor
package). The bigger the number of people who could benefit from
using the Tools for Change CD-ROM, the more you pay for
the license.
We know that some groups that work for social justice simply
don't have much money. We don't want that to be a barrier and
we are currently working to find sponsorships so that groups
will not have to pay full price. If you want to explore sponsorship,
please contact us.
