Shafik Asante, a well known human rights activist from Philadelphia, courageously opens his heart and his life in this unique video which is a high caliber training tape. The tape takes the viewer through each step of the MAPS process and discusses the steps in detail as designed by the authors. An 8 minute segment by Judith Snow at the end of the video is a gem describing "dreaming", which is the heart of the process.
MAPS is an 8 step tool that collects information about a person, a family, or an organization, then designs a plan of action based on the that information. The questions are:
- What is a MAP?
- What is the person's story or history?
- What are the person's dreams?
- What are the person's nightmare's.
- Who is this person?
- What is the person good at (their gifts and talents)?
- What do we need to do to get to the dream and avoid the nightmare? and finally
- What is our plan of Action?
